Samsung, Marino Launch Autism Campaign
Samsung's Hope for Children charity has joined forces with Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino for “Team Up for Autism,” a new effort to raise awareness and funds for autism research.
Samsung plans to contribute $5 to the Dan Marino Foundation for each time someone spread the word about autism on Facebook or Twitter by using the #teamautism hashtag. Samsung will contribute up to $100,000.
"We began our partnership with the Marino Foundation in 2006,” David Steel, Executive Vice President, Strategy, Samsung Electronics America, said in a statement. “Five years later we are beginning to see some real progress in the public’s awareness of autism and how it impacts families. We still have a long way to go, and we realized that by leveraging digital technologies and social media we might be able to accelerate public education efforts.”
