Samsung Exec Doubts Glasses-Free 3D TV
A Samsung executive last week expressed doubt that glasses-free 3D TVs will become a staple in the next five years.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Samsung visual display head B.K. Yoon, speaking on a panel in Seoul, blamed "technical hurdles" for the lack of progress on the glasses-free TV front. He did say that smaller mobile devices will more likely be able to handle the technology sooner.
Toshiba earlier this month showed a small glasses-free TV, which it said it will begin selling in December. Seagate's stock rose Friday on the speculation.
