Samsung has taken the top spot in LCD market share in the U.S. from Vizio, according to first quarter numbers released Monday by iSuppli Corp.
Samsung moved 1.15 million shipments in the quarter for 18 percent of the market, edging out Vizio, which sold 1.065 million for 16.7 percent. Sony was third, followed by Sanyo and LG.
Vizio led in the fourth quarter with 18.5 percent market share, ahead of Samsung's 17.3 percent. The two companies have traded the top spot in iSuppli's LCD market survey for most of the past two years.
