Samsung Names New Marketing Chief
Samsung Electronics’ North American unit on Tuesday announced that it had hired Steven Cook as its new senior vice president and chief strategic marketing officer.
Cook, a 26-year veteran of the retail marketing business, is a newcomer to the consumer electronics space. He had previously held a similar position with Coca-Cola. Prior to that, he worked at Procter & Gamble. He will report to Samsung Electronics North America President and CEO D.J. Oh.
“Steven has extensive expertise and skills in brand differentiation, which have been honed in equally competitive industries where brand differentiation is critical,” Oh said in the company’s announcement of the hiring. “We are pleased to welcome and look forward to his contributions.”
