Samsung Shows Its Line
At a press tour at the W Court Hotel in NYC Samsung Electronics gave journalists a peek at it newest DVD, portable audio, set-top-box and camcorder lines. While there was little shown at this event that had not been originally debuted at Samsung's CES exhibit in January, products details and pricing were now fully flushed out.
Here are some highlights of the new product offerings:
In HTiB, Samsung is offering the new, highly styled HT-DS1000, designed to complement the company's plasma and LCD flat panels and the thin profile DLP televisions. The thin DVD progressive scan player/receiver can be mounted on a bundled pedestal or hung on the wall. The front and rear speakers are very narrow towers. The 100 watt per channel amplifier is housed in the subwoofer. The sub itself is an active 150 watt system. In addition to the standard ports, the unit supports HDMI. It is available now for $1,499 MSRP.
