At CES 2016 in Las Vegas this week, Samsung will debut a new portfolio of audio products. The new products include a “groundbreaking” Soundbar that features Dolby Atmos technology, as well as enhancements to Samsung’s Radiant360 audio series. Samsung said its new audio product roster is designed to deliver “spectacular sound for a truly next-generation experience.” All of the products will be at the company’s CES 2016 booth (#11906) located in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“Our 2016 lineup of audio products offers the most immersive sound ever experienced in the home,” John JY Kim, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said in a statement. “Samsung’s new Soundbar with Dolby Atmos technology, delivers the ultimate in cinematic home entertainment, especially when paired with Samsung’s new SUHD TVs.”
Samsung explained that the new soundbar—the HW-K950 Soundbar—is its first to feature Dolby Atmos technology. Samsung also claimed that its the industry’s first soundbar package to include two Dolby Atmos-enabled wireless rear speakers. Together, the complete HW-K950 package delivers 5.1.4-channel sound. Further, Samsung said that the soundbar can connect wirelessly to the subwoofer and rear speaker units to provide a “practical and seamless solution in any living room.” This also means that ceiling-fitted speakers are not required for moving, 3D audio, the company explained.
