Samsung's Hope For Children Gala Raises $1.5 Million
Samsung this week held its annual Hope For Children Gala in New York. The event, which raised $1.5 million to benefit childrens' health, featured Tony Bennett, John Legend and Rob Thomas, as well as Chelsea Clinton, Drew Brees, Boomer Esiason and many more celebrities.
“As the world’s leading technology company, Samsung recognizes the roles technology and innovation play in making the future a brighter place for our children,” Y.K. Kim, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics North America, said as part of the announcement. “Our goal is to help children gain better health and education and empower them to protect the planet on which they live.”
Also this week, Samsung opened Samsung House, a "home environment" meant to showcase the company's home and appliance products. The house, in New York's Soho neighborhood, will open for a week.
