SanDisk Introduces TakeTV Player
SanDisk Corp. has introduced a unique new product which enables easy moving of video content from computers to TVs. The Sansa TakeTV Video Player, billed as an alternative to wireless home networks and DVD burning, is being released in the U.S. today, with releases elsewhere in the world scheduled for next year.
The TakeTV player works much like a flash drive (in fact, the product was originally known as “USBTV.” It attaches to a PC, at which point files are dragged onto the player. Then, by plugging the device into your TV’s A/V sockets, an on-screen guide enables viewing of the files through the TV. It works with both new and old TVs.
The product, under its original name, was first unveiled at CES in January. It is offered at MSRPs of $99.99 and $149.99, for 4GB and 8GB versions, respectively.
