Sanyo on “Easy Street” With Portable Navigation
Sanyo announced the availability Wednesday of a new portable navigation device, the Easy Street NVM-4030. The unit features an anti-glare 4-inch LCD screen, voice guidance and turn-by-turn navigation through 2-D and 3-D maps. It uses a NAVTEQ database with 1.4 million points of interest on a 1 GB SD card (no download required) and a Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) - basically a network of satellites and ground stations sending updated GPS data - to figure out where you are. The navigation is subscription-free.
The system also offers hands free calling via bluetooth and will play MP3 and WMA files. It’s available now for $399.99.
