Sanyo Unveils Waterproof Camcorder
On Tuesday, Sanyo announced the upcoming release of the Xacti E1, which can shoot underwater at a depth of up to five feet for one hour at a time. It records MPEG-4 video using AVC/H.264 at 640 x 480 and 30 frames per second onto an SD or SDHC card. It can also take 6-megapixel stills in JPEG format. The camcorder is designed for one-handed use in order to optimize it for shooting while swimming, skiing, surfing or other ordinarily camcorder-unfriendly activities.
The Sanyo Xacti E1 drops in mid-June in blue, yellow or white for an MSRP of $499.99.
