Best Buy Readies Toshiba Computer For Kids
Best Buy is now selling a new computer for kids developed by Toshiba. The Satellite L635 Kids’ PC, the company's first computer made specifically for kids, is aimed at children aged 5 to 10.
The 13.3-inch computer sports both entertainment and education software.
“The laptop has traditionally been a device conceived and built for adults, and devices currently being marketed to kids are either netbooks or toy-based computers,” Jeff Barney, vice president and general manager of Toshiba's Digital Products Division, said as part of the announcement. “As a result of this collaboration with Best Buy, we have made a product that provides the right measure of fun and entertainment for children while meeting the computing needs and security concerns of their parents.”
