This past Saturday night, "Saturday Night Live" aired a commercial parody of Verizon stores and the confusion the average customer goes through when trying to purchase, upgrade to, or simply understand the terms "4G" and "LTE."
In the skit, shot in the style of Verizon's real-life commercials, comedian Bill Hader plays an overly enthusiastic Verizon salesman overwhelming a customer (played by Fred Armisen). Between the the various smartphone and tablet options and the roundabout reply of how 4G is better then 3G, the customer never finds out what 4G LTE is. SNL completes the skit with the tag line "Verizon: An Old Person's Nightmare!"
