It was Sunday, August 1 and I had not yet written this week’s Sachs Report. Worse yet, I had nary a clue as to what I was going to write about. I had just finished playing golf and all during the round I was consumed with what I was going to write about.
Time was ticking and I could not get out of my mind that I had nothing to turn in Monday to hit deadline for my weekly column. And then, like the awakening from that first cup of coffee in the morning, it came to me! Right there in front of me, on the rear bumper of a brand-new Porsche Panamera 4S, was a bumper sticker that simply said, “Stop Global Whining!”
At first I thought of what the person driving a $95,000 automobile would have to whine about, but when you’re on deadline and have nothing, inspiration can come from anywhere at any time. Stay with me here folks as I turn this into this week’s Sachs Report.
