Sears CEO Lewis to Resign
Sears announced Monday that its chief executive, Aylwin B. Lewis, is leaving the company later this week, as part of the company’s reorganization. W. Bruce Johnson will take over the CEO job on an interim basis, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
The company had said last week that it would undergo a major restructuring, giving more autonomy to each individual unit.
Lewis had been CEO of Kmart when Sears purchased the retail chain in 2004, and took over Sears soon after. Sears Holdings is controlled by hedge fund king Edward Lampert.
