Sears to Revamp CE Departments
Sears Holdings Co. is planning big changes to its electronics offerings, including making its in-store departments more interactive, offering cable upgrades in-store, and improving the store's online presence. The company's new head of home electronics, Karen A. Austin, laid out the plans in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times.
Austin told the paper that new product guides have come to Sears.com, an initiative that was emphasized because 70 percent of customers research products before buying online.
Austin, formerly the company's chief information officer, was named head of Sears' its home electronics unit last month.
