Security Upped at COMDEX and CES
The Consumer Electronics Association will be watching Key3Media's COMDEX Fall 2001 closely next week as it prepares for the 2002 International CES. Both Las Vegas-based shows have tightened security measures to protect attendees and exhibitors after terrorist attacks on major commerce venues became an unfortunate possibility.
COMDEX has so far implemented the more stringent measures, but organizers of both shows encourage their respective attendees and exhibitors to build additional time into their schedules to accommodate new security measures.
"This is not an ideal situation this year," Rick Moore, Senior Vice president of Key3Media Events public relations. "We just ask you to be patient. We want to accommodate you the best we can, but security is the issue for all of us. We're going to do everything we can to make this a secure facility and good show for everyone."
