CEA Announces Two More Digital Patriots Dinner Honorees
The Consumer Electronics Association announced Monday that two longtime members of Congress will be honored at its Digital Patriots Dinner in Washington next month. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.) will both be honored, and will join Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg.
Leahy is being honored because he has been a “leader on Internet and technology issues” who was co-founder and remains co-chairman of the Congressional Internet Caucus. Davis was recognized because, the CEA said, he has been a leader on technology issues, and has a background working in Virginia’s high-tech sector.
“The 2008 Digital Patriots have a vision for the future of the consumer technology industry and its impact on the global economy and citizens of the world,” CEA chairman Gary Shapiro said as part of the announcement. “I look forward to recognizing their achievements at the Digital Patriots Dinner in April.”
