Sennheiser Reveals its First Audiophile Bluetooth In-Ear Headphones
Sennheiser has pulled back the curtain on its breakthrough, audiophile Bluetooth in-ear headphones, the IE 80S BT. The neckband-style headphones were constructed with much of the same technology used in the Sennheiser’s IE 80S ear-canal headphones. Like the IE 80S, the luxury brand’s wireless version supports hi-res audio for outstanding accuracy and realistic soundstage. The IE 80S BT also provides access to voice assistants like Siri and Google Assistant.
"The IE 80S BT earphones have been meticulously crafted to the most demanding standards,” explains Ronja Harste, Product Manager Audiophile at Sennheiser. “They not only meet Sennheiser’s exacting criteria for a high-end audio product and match the exceptional performance of their wired predecessor, but also offer a real wireless option for refined audiophiles who don’t wish to compromise on sound quality.”
Sennheiser delivers on its promise of providing exquisite wireless audio by supporting hi-res codecs like LHDC, apt HD, and AAC as well as aptX Low Latency. While the IE 80S BT earphones were crafted to deliver tonally balanced sound similar to that of Sennheiser’s range of audiophile headphones, the sound can be uniquely altered for each individual. Listeners can completely customize their IE 80S headphones by using the bass adjustment tool or the 5-band equalizer located in the Smart Control App.
To gain access to their content, users can activate Siri and Google Assistant by using the dedicated “voice assistant access button.” The three-button remote clearly understands commands using Sennheiser’s high-quality microphones with noise reduction technology.
The IE 80S BT offers six hours of wireless listening time, but also allows for wired listening using a traditional cable. Each set of adapters is made from silicone, silicone lamellar, and ComplyTM Memory Foam with three size options to help find the perfect fit. Along with flexible ear hooks with a soft-touch finish, the IE 80S BT are comfortable enough to withstand hours of listening.
The IE 80S BT headphones were first revealed at the Hong Kong High End Audio Visual Show, and they will officially be available in mid-August for $499.95 (€499).
