Manufacturers, Retailers Sued Over Application
Several top CE manufacturers, as well as Best Buy, have been named in a lawsuit alleging copyright infringement by the Software Freedom Law Center.
According to PCMag the plaintiff, which represents the Software Freedom Conservancy, which owns the BusyBox software application, alleges that the defendants sold products containing the application without permission.
Best Buy, JVC, Samsung, Westinghouse Digital Electronics, Western Digital Technologies, Robert Bosch and Versa Technology are among the defendants. The SFLC had previously filed similar suits against Verizon and Cisco.
