The Nationwide Marketing Group will make the kitchen appliances lines of Sharp Home Electronics Company of America (SHCA) available through the buying group’s member stores beginning this summer, through an agreement announced today.
The deal makes the lines available to Nationwide’s more than 5,500 dealer members through its more than 14,000 storefronts.
“We’re excited to work together with Sharp to bring this innovative new line of major home appliance products to our membership, now and in the future, and look forward to welcoming them to our biannual PrimeTime event this August,” said Tom Hickman, Nationwide Marketing Group’s president and chief member advocate.
“We’re fired up to bring our great products and brands to them to help drive new opportunities together,” Peter Weedfald, senior vice president of sales & marketing, Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America, told Dealerscope. He added that for Nationwide and Sharp, there is “a variety of ways for us to work together. They have an exclusive digital marketing platform that will be important for our ability to promulgate our videos and content to help articulate and navigate our products. We’ll also work very closely in dealership marketing programs.”
The lineup as it currently stands includes Sharp’s built-in microwave drawers, countertop microwave ovens and over-the-range microwave ovens. In addition, the brand’s SuperSteam+ 3-in-1 oven and induction cooktops also join the line of available appliances, as well as European convection wall ovens. “We will be talking to all the dealers about our air purifiers as well,” Weedfald told us.
“We’re expanding, bringing out new products and new arsenals of marketing and advertising, and we will have a full kitchen, come the first quarter of 2020. We’re really thinking ahead of the curve. Sharp is on the march, and Nationwide Marketing Group and their dealers are going to be great new partners for us,” added Weedfald.
“The entire team is dedicated to promoting Simply Better Living across the U.S., and this business relationship with Nationwide provides us with a powerful opportunity to share new cooking appliances that are simple to use, better than the competition, and supports one’s choice to live a healthier lifestyle,” said Jim Sanduski, SHCA president.
“Sharp has long been a leader in cooking innovation, and their expansion into induction and built-in wall ovens is an exciting next step for the brand,” said Patrick Maloney, senior vice president of appliances for Nationwide. “We are thrilled that Sharp has chosen to offer these products first through independent retailers and appreciate the opportunity this channel-management strategy brings our members.”
“We’re very grateful to Tom Hickman and Patrick Maloney and also [Nationwide VP] Derek Mattila, and the entire Nationwide group,” Weedfald added.
