Sharp Drops U.S. Marketing Department
Sharp has eliminated its entire marketing and communications department in the U.S., a move which will include the departure of chief marketing officer Bob Scaglione, Advertising Age reported Monday.
In all 12 people will be let go. The move is part of a global layoff that could include the elimination of as many as 3,000 jobs, most of them in Japan.
Sharp told AdAge in a statement that "the functions of its Marketing and Communications Department will now be contained within its individual business units."
