The company behind the Olevia brand of flat-panel TVs announced Friday that it has reached an agreement with Sharp to be supplied with LCD panels. Under the terms of the deal, Olevia parent company Syntax-Brillian Corp. will be supplied with 700,000 flat panels from Sharp, in the 32, 37, 52, and 65-inch categories. In addition, Olevia gets the option to purchase the 65” 120Hz LCD panel through September 2008.
Exact financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
We are pleased to have reached this agreement with Sharp and to be recognized as one of their technology partners within the LCD TV industry,” the company’s CEO, James Li, said in a statement, adding that the move will help the company better serve customers as the 2008 Olympics in Beijing approach.
