Shift4 Announces New POS Card Security Technology
On Monday, Shift4 Corporation announced the launch of 4GO with SecureSwipe technology, designed to remove cardholder data from POS machines for increased security. Created for use with their $$$ on the Net gateway, 4GO with SecureSwipe encrypts user data at the point of sale, replacing it with fake data useless to any third party outside the system. Any useable logs of sensitive data are thus removed from POS devices or merchant systems.
In a statement, Shift4 characterized the technology as “a certified alternative to being audited for PCI compliance.” Shift4 President and CEO Dave Oder elaborated, “Merchants need to act fast to become PCI compliant. Shift4, a trusted third-party authority on data security, has a solution that creates a seamless, cost-effective way for merchants to remove the burden of PCI compliance and focus on their core business.”
4GO with SecureSwipe is available now to current users of $$$ on the Net at no extra charge.
