Shopping Concierge Speeds Tech Penetration in Countries with Limited Access
Big Apple Buddy is a pioneering shopping concierge model that claims to solve the problem faced by countries with late or no access to the hottest and newest tech trends. The shopping concierge, which is based out of New York City, offers personalized luxury buying experience that connects the consumer who is based outside the U.S. with otherwise inaccessible goods.
In a statement, Big Apple Buddy said that the current international e-commerce space is fairly restrictive. U.S. retailers don’t ship to many countries for a range of reasons, and international retailers are frustrated by their lack of access, the company said. Their shopping concierge model aims to break down those barriers and provide access to international online shoppers and make that access as easy as possible.
“Believing that tech enthusiasts and early adopters everywhere (not just in the United States and a few other select countries) deserve the option to buy new products as they hit American shelves, Big Apple Buddy developed a concierge business model,” the company said in a statement. “While they operate very much within the e-commerce sphere, their service and client relationships more closely reflect a premium personalized shopping service. To this end, founder Phillis [Chan] has placed a heavy emphasis on excellent service and swift delivery.”
