The New Jersey-based retailer Sixth Avenue Electronics is looking for space for a new distribution center and headquarters in Northern New Jersey, and is also looking at expanding into Connecticut and the Philadelphia area, the company said in a press release this week.
Sixth Avenue is looking for a 150,000 square-foot single-level building to house its offices and distribution operations; the company would like the building to be “within a 20-minute drive” of the George Washington Bridge, which connects Northern New Jersey to New York City. The new office would represent a move from Springfield, NJ, which is about 30 miles from the bridge.
Although most of the chain’s stores are in the Northern half of New Jersey, Sixth Avenue has been slowly expanding East- and South-ward, with two stores opening on Long Island and the first-ever Jersey Shore location coming later this summer. The company is also scouting potential locations in both Connecticut and the suburbs of Philadelphia, on both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey sides.
