Skype Announces SkypeKit at CEA Line Shows
With 560 million registered users, 250 billion calling minutes, 23 million concurrent users at any given time and 12 percent of the world's long-distance calling minutes, Skype has created quite a name for itself in only 6.5 years.
Why? According to Jonathan Christensen, general manager and head of platform for the company, Skype differs from social networks because it lets you communicate with the people who really matter, instead of hundreds of acquaintances.
"It's about having rich, intimate conversations," Christensen said, at the CEA Line Shows in New York City this week.
