Another Report of Smaller iPhone
Apple is looking to compete with the Android platform with a smaller, cheaper iPhone that will exist alongside its standard portfolio, according to another report over the weekend.
The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday that Apple is at work on a separate line of iPhones "about half of the size" of the current version. The report echoed a story last week in Bloomberg News. The Journal, citing "people familiar with the matter," echoed the Bloomberg report in stating that CEO Steve Jobs, despite being on medical leave, is closely involved with the project.
Apple is also considering making the MobileMe service available free of charge, the Journal said.
