Sony Brings Back the Walkman
Sony on Thursday announced the upcoming release of two now personal media player series that bring back the company’s famed Walkman brand, with video capability for the first time. The two series, called the NWZ-A810 and NWZ-S610, will play audio and video files, while also featuring an open platform for downloading additional applications; both are also compatible with Microsoft Windows. The launch had been rumored for some time.
The new players, coming in five different colors and various capacities, will range in price from $140 to $230 for the NWZ-A810, and $120 to $210 for the NWZ-S610. The players are expected to arrive in December.
Sony also announced that it is pulling the plug on its Sony Connect music download service.
