Sony Brings Back Walkman- As a Phone
Sony Ericsson has announced the pending worldwide availability of four new phones- two of which will carry one of Sony’s most venerable brand names, the Walkman.
According to a company statement last week, the W960 Walkman and W910 Walkman will both be available in the third or fourth quarter of this year. The high-end W960 is yet another iPhone competitor, which includes WiFi access, a camera, a touchscreen display and the ability to hold up to 8,000 songs. The more modestly priced W910 is a slider phone that allows the capability of shuffling songs by shaking the phone, using the “SelectShake Control” feature.
The other two new phones, both outside the Walkman category, are camera phones with the names K850 and Z320. No pricing information or exact release dates have yet been issued for any of the new products.
