Sony at CES announced a new PC-based Blu-ray Disc that breaks the $200 barrier for the technology, CNET reported from the event.
The BDU-X10S drive, which can be pre-ordered from Sony’s Web site here, has a list price of $199.99, and is scheduled for release “on or about” Feb. 1. The player, which is compatible with Windows XP and Vista, also plays DVDs, but does not re-write in Blu-ray format.
