Sony Cuts Headquarters Jobs
Sony Electronics this week announced that it is cutting 340 jobs at its San Diego offices. According to the San Diego Business Journal, the cuts comprise 18 percent of the full-time work force.
The company told the journal that 190 of those jobs consisted of layoffs, while the rest have accepted early retirement packages.
Sony had said earlier this month that it would restructure its sales and marketing operations, with president of consumer sales Jay Vandenbree and corporate communications vice president Rick Clancy both leaving the company this year.
