Sony Ericsson Announces First Windows Mobile Phone
In a move that both teams it up with the world’s #1 software company and gives it a major U.S. presence., Sony Ericsson has announced its first-ever phone that runs Windows Mobile. PCMag.com reported that the device, called the Xperia X1, will arrive in the U.S. this year.
The device, which the company, eschewing the phrase “smartphone,” wishes to call a “truly converged device for entertainment and productivity,” will sport a full QWERTY keyboard, and a hi-res, 3-inch touchscreen. Other featuers include GPS, Wi-Fi, a 3.2 megapixel camera and DVD-quality video playback.
The phone will be released in the U.S. in the second half of this year, at an unnamed “high-end” price.
