Sony executives yesterday said they expect a solid holiday season that will be driven by sales of high-definition electronics.
“We’re anticipating an extremely strong holiday season,” Stan Glasgow, president and COO of Sony Electronics said, adding that many dealers are re-forecasting holiday sales figures that are better than originally predicted.
A bulk of the sales will be fueled by the company’s recently launched HDNA marketing campaign, which focuses on high-definition electronics sold as a full solution, Glasgow said. The campaign follows a similar one the company launched earlier this year on digital imaging solutions, which Glasgow attributed to growing the segment more than 35 percent during the second quarter. “That’s something we didn’t expect,” he said.
