Sony Introduces OLED TVs to the Market
Among the largest assortment of product introductions of the day, Sony announced that as of January 5th, it now has an OLED TV for sale at Sony Style stores, including the Las Vegas store at Ceasar’s. The XEL-1 is an 11-inch widescreen OLED TV, the first available for sale in North America. It features a screen depth of only three millimeters and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. It’s priced at $2,499. A prototype 27-inch model was also shown.
Another notable Sony products shown was a prototype 82-inch LCD TV with a 4K resolution (4096 x 2160) that can either show one 4K image or four simultaneous HDTV images.
