Sony Intros Music Player That Shares- and Shakes
Sony on Monday announced the impending release of a new “audio entertainment device” that’s shaped like an egg, dances and flashes lights, and enables easy use of filing sharing. The Rolly, which according to the Wall Street Journal has been in development for three years, can hold up to 500 songs.
The Rolly’s most revolutionary application is that it dances- and is able to move in time with the music of each song. It gets its name, the Journal said, as a combination of the words “rolling” and “friendly.”
The player has a gigabyte of flash memory, and can also receive music from a Bluetooth connection. The Rolly is scheduled for release in Japan at the end of September for the equivalent of $353, but no U.S. release date or pricing information has yet been announced.
