Sony Names Sega Vet as New Marketing Chief
Sony Computer North America this week announced a replacement for recently departed marketing director Dave Karraker, and it’s someone from another part of the gaming world- Sega VP of Marketing Scott Steinberg. Steinberg will leave Sega to take over as North American product marketing vice president, as of Oct. 1, the gaming Web site 1up.com reported Monday.
The 43-year-old Steinberg, also a veteran of Crystal Dynamics, Napster, is a 20-year veteran of the industry. He will be tasked with lifting the struggling PlayStation 3 back into the race with Nintendo’s Wii and Microsoft’s Xbox.
Steinberg will report to Peter Dille, Senior Vice President, Marketing and PlayStation Network.
