Sony Unveils Updated PSP
Sony Computer Entertainment America announced Thursday that a new version of the PlayStation Portable console will arrive in the U.S. in October. The biggest changes in the new system include a new LCD screen, more colors and a built-in microphone.
The PSP will be released as part of the Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack, along with the titular game. The company also said it will release, in November, PSP 4GB Memory Entertainment Pack, a package that includes the new PSP itself as well as a Memory Stick PRO Duo and a voucher to download “Everyday Shooter” for the PSP.
“As we head into the holiday shopping season, both of these new Entertainment Packs represent a significant value for gift-givers, combining the updated PSP and its enhanced screen with content that showcases the PSP’s gaming and entertainment functionality,” Sony’s senior vice president of marketing for the PlayStation brand, Peter Dille, said as part of the announcement.
