Distinguishing a TV brand in a marketplace flooded with premium, feature-loaded large screens is no mean feat, but Sony Electronics will be offering a solution to this dilemma, with the imminent debut this spring of its first Bravia OLED 4K HDR TVs. The A1E series will be made available in 55-, 65- and 77-inch screen sizes, and the series’ unique features were recently demo’ed for the media at the company’s New York City offices. The series was one introduction among multiple Sony TV and audio product lineups that were explained and demonstrated.
“Our processing is the difference – not the panels we use,” explained Phil Jones, product technology manager, about the A1E models. That processing is provided by Sony’s X1 Extreme 4K HDR image engine, providing 40 percent more real-time processing power than the earlier Sony X1. Jones said it works to achieve close to perfection from sometimes “imperfect sources.”
