Turntable manufacturer Spiral Groove has announced an upgrade package is now available for its SG1.1 turntable.
Version 1.2 includes a new platter, isolation feet, damping material, an improved magnetic platter levitation system, and various other parts.
The upgrade also adds a new serial number badge and power supply faceplate.
The new platter’s increased weight will make the bass more impactful, according to the company, as well as adding more focus and depth to the audio imaging. The new platter materials are said to yield a “fast” sound with a lowered noise floor.
“Even pops and ticks seem quieter, I believe, because of the platter material and internal shape,” stated Spiral Groove President Allen Perkins. “The turntable now simply sounds more like the way music sounds in real life.”
These elements from the upgrade package will be incorporated into Spiral Groove’s upcoming SG1.2 turntable.
