After a cold wintertime of hopefully selling remote start, springtime is a welcome time to refocus on training and custom installation. New to the 12-volt world are two trade shows that are designed to fire up retailers to wire up those cars.
The first trade show is held in conjunction with world-famous Spring Break Nationals. Event founder Paul Papadeas recognized the need for retailers in the Southeast to have the ability to travel to a world-class trade show without breaking the bank on travel expenses. So he initiated in.car.EXPO, which is the latest evolution of Spring Break Nationals.
Forty-four of the industry’s leading manufacturers, along with regional distributors of mobile electronics and accessories, exhibited at the event. On the consumer side, the 200,000-square-foot Ocean Center in Daytona Beach was hopping with spectators and trade attendees. The SPL zone was segregated from the rest of the show floor, but still proved very popular. SPL brands such as Orion, McLaren Sound Systems, DS 18 and PRV Brazil were doing their job of “raising the roof” of the Ocean Center with earth-shattering volumes.
