We hope these help you in planning for today, forecasting for tomorrow and beating the competition in the future. Let's start with some numbers from CEA's recent "3DTV in the Home" report, which focuses on one of the most talked about and debated technologies in the last 12 months.
First off, consumer experience with 3D and general awareness of it grew last year and will continue to increase this year as more 3DTVs and related content are released. About 27% of U.S. online adults saw a 3D movie in the theater in 2009, up from 17 percent the year before. Of the 27% of U.S. adults who saw a 3D movie or event in 2009 about half saw more than one. About 38% say they would prefer to watch a 3D movie in a theater over the same movie in 2D. That will quickly translate into more interest in 3DTV solutions at retail.
