Caldero On Ken Crane’s Consolidation and Future Plans
In addition, Ken Crane's "custom department has grown, now can sell themselves in stores," he said. "They are more sophisticated in the types of installations they can do."
Caldero joined the company in 2005 as vice president of sales, after 19 years with Yamaha and four years with JBL. Having spent the last five years in retail, Caldero has come to realize that "manufacturers don't understand retail, and retailers don't understand manufacturing."
Caldero said his experience "on both sides of the desk" will serve him well as he considers what's next. He is open to relocating and looking at opportunities in retail, manufacturing and services. "It's more about the fit with the company than the location at this point," he said. "I haven't ruled out anything, and haven't settled on anything in particular at this point."
