Study: Installation Channel to Reach $17 Billion by 2012
The home systems integration/installation channel is expected to double in the next five years, according to figures released by Parks Associates and announced last week. The sector, now generating $9.8 billion, will reach $17 billion by 2012, the study said.
The reasons for the expected jump, according to Parks, are the migration of electronics to all-in-one controlled systems, especially in connection of flat-panel televisions to PCs, gaming consoles and media centers.
The $17 billion figure is for residential markets only; when all other markets are taken into account the figure rises to $22.6 billion, from a present total of $12.6 billion.
