Super Bowl TV Sales Bounce Estimated at 2.4 Million
It’s well-known that the Super Bowl has tended to lead to a boom in purchases of high-definition televisions. But now, the Consumer Electronics Association and the Sports Video Group has put a number on the estimate for this year: 2.4 million, according to Broadcasting and Cable.
According to the Sports and Technology Survey, jointly released this week by CEA and SVG, the sales of these TVs were generate $2.2 billion in revenue- not including sales of ancillary items as cables and mounting brackets.
The survey was taken Jan. 14-21, and was of 2,278 adults in the U.S.
