Survey: Equal Interest in iPad, Kindle Fire
With Amazon's Kindle Fire joining the tablet wars and taking on Apple's iPad 2, one new survey sees equal numbers of consumers interested in each.
According to Park Associates' Consumer Decision Process: Holiday Intentions survey, when customers interested in a tablet were asked which one they wanted, 51 percent answered the Kindle Fire while 49 percent chose the iPad 2.
Those numbers, however, changed to 62/38 in Apple's favor when consumers were asked about their intentions prior to the end of the year. In addition, older consumers preferred the Kindle Fire, while respondents with higher incomes and education levels were more likely to choose the iPad.
