Survey: Mac Owners Buy More Music Downloads
When it comes to downloading music legally, by paying money, Mac users are much more prolific than PC owners, according to a recent survey by the NPD Group,
“ target=”_blank”>as reported by the New York Times.
The survey, of 4,915 conducted in fall 2007, a full 50 percent of Mac users paid to download music in the third quarter of last year, compared with only 16 percent. The disparity was attributed to everything from iTunes, like the Mac, being an Apple product to the Mac being marketed as an “entertainment machine” to the ubiquity of peer-to-peer file sharing networks on PCs.
