Survey: Only Five Percent of Downloads End Up on TVs
While downloading of video content is growing in popularity, and many see Internet-to-TV downloads as the way of the future in home entertainment, as of late last year just five percent of survey respondents said they regularly watch Web video through a TV monitor.
The result is based on a survey conducted by Harris Interactive’s Macrovision, as reported by the Web site Ars Technica. In addition, only 10 percent of respondents even expressed a desire to do so.
The survey, of more than 2,000 adults, also found that 43 percent of those asked donate some form of digital content from the Internet, be it video, audio, or images, more than 25 percent download TV shows, and 15 percent download full-length feature films.
