What’s also interesting, though, about the FatWallet.com survey is that roughly 25 percent of those surveyed said they plan to buy their new TV online or via their mobile device this year (30 percent for males, against 18 percent for females). “Consumers are getting more comfortable buying their big screen TVs online,” Brent Shelton, FatWallet online shopping expert, said in a statement. “Early Super Bowl sales offer shoppers an opportunity to save an average of 20% or more on high-end TV clearance in January, and get them delivered in time the Big Game.”
That’s one finding that I can’t seem to come to grips with. I know that it’s hard to tell the actual quality of a TV screen based on whatever connection the store display is set up on, but I still want to be able to go in-person and check the thing out before spending hundreds (possibly thousands) of dollars.
