Tablet Demand Explodes
The arrival of Amazon's new Kindle Fire is seen as a key milestone in the huge growth of the tablet market, according to a survey released Monday by ChangeWave.
The survey found that the Kindle Fire is garnering consumer interest on a level not seen since the arrival of the original iPad. In addition, the number of respondents planning to buy a tablet in the next 90 days has more than tripled- from 4 to 14 percent- from last November to this month.
ChangeWave asked consumers who are planning to buy a tablet in the future which brand they planned to buy, and 65 percent answered the iPad, while 22 percent said the Kindle Fire. The only other tablet to place on the survey was the Samsung Galaxy Tab, with 4 percent.
