Target’s Macke Dies at 69
Kenneth A. Macke, the longtime CEO of the company that became Target Corp., passed away Saturday from Parkinson’s complications, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported. Macke was 69 years old.
Macke was chairman of the Dayton Hudson Corp., the Minneapolis-based department store firm that later became Target Corp., from 1984 through 1994. He had already supervised Target, then a Dayton Hudson division, from 1976 to 1981, presiding over a huge period of growth for the chain.
